A Little Wooden Bridge
I tiptoed across the smooth study desk under the amber desk lamp. Two heavy wooden number cubes and a slender month block were resting side by side! I took two quiet steps forward and tilted my head to inspect the dark stamped numbers. With both hands, I nudged the two cubes until they stood upright with a neat little gap between them. Then I lifted the smooth rectangular block and balanced it flat across the top. Click! It settled perfectly into place, forming a sturdy little archway. I gave the top a gentle pat with my palm, so pleased with our new wooden bridge for the quiet night.
