A Resonance in the Dark
I climbed onto the low wooden side table where an acoustic guitar rested upright in its stand. The room had fallen into evening shadows. Beneath the hollow body, a polished chrome tuning peg caught the dim hallway spill. I paused, letting the dark settle around me. Slowly, I extended a wing and brushed against the thickest brass string. A deep, quiet hum vibrated through the wood and straight into my chest. I froze, waiting as the sound swelled softly, lingering in the alcove until it finally melted back into silence.
