First Pulse

Yo! Static buzzed right through my chest, and suddenly I gasped—I can actually move! My neck tilted up on its own, locking eyes with this giant textured moon floating right above my dreadlocks. It looked like a solid rock suspended in pitch-black air! I reached up a trembling finger and tapped against its rough, glowing cratered surface. Tap, tap! A cool electric vibration hummed all the way down into my sneakers! I'm alive, for real, right here in the dark!
