A Cool Green Glass
I padded along the edge of the smooth basin, clutching my little star tight against my chest. Right next to the chrome faucet, sitting in a shallow ceramic dish, was a pale sea glass pebble. It was frosty and cool. I leaned over, tapping it gently with one paw. It slid across the slick ceramic with a quiet click. I pressed my belly close and held the glass against my star to see if they fit together. They did. The morning light bounced off the puddle around it, making tiny ripples that shivered when I nudged the rim.
