A Cloud from the Spout
A tiny hiss whistled across the kitchen tiles! I scampered straight over to the counter and scrambled up a folded tea towel. Right on the glossy surface sat a tall silver kettle. It gave a sharp click, and suddenly a white plume puffed right out of the spout! I leaned close to inspect it. The steamy air drifted across my face with the loveliest, humid heat. I stretched both paws out to capture the rising cloud, but it dissolved right between my fingers into tiny warm droplets. I stood tall on my tiptoes, soaking in every bit of that cozy mist until the spout went quiet.
