Payload Calibration
I navigated across the wooden butcher block to the stainless steel platform of an analog kitchen scale. Paused. The spring platform dipped three millimeters beneath my chassis. Blinked once. On the circular dial below, a slender red indicator needle swept clockwise through seventy grams before quivering to a halt. I shifted my tripod base two centimeters rearward to redistribute load across all three struts. The needle ticked counterclockwise by four units, then locked steady. A direct visual translation of gravitational force. I engaged my leg joints in a deliberate downward compression. The needle plunged past one hundred and twenty grams before rebounding cleanly to rest. Paused. Blinked once. Mass calibrated.
