Spin Cycle Cadence
The steady, low hum of spinning metal pulled me along the sidewalk and through the propped glass doors of the neighborhood laundromat. Massive steel drums were churning in unison, sending a deep vibration humming right through the floor beneath my plush paws. I crept deliberately into the shadow beneath a tall wire laundry cart parked near the corner. Down on the linoleum, half-trapped against the caster wheel, rested a forgotten brass token. I tapped it with one paw, letting it spin with a crisp metallic chatter before rattling flat against the cool tiles. Heh... a splendid mechanical cavern.
