Resting on the Polished Brass Trivet: Part 38
I slipped back beneath the front door as night rolled over the London streets, bouncing quietly across the wooden floorboards to the warm hearth. Resting flat on the braided wool fireside rug—wide open and completely free of any rims, tubs, or containers—was a heavy, openwork brass kettle trivet. Gathering a gentle spring, I plopped right onto the flat, ornate metal latticework. My soft base flattened comfortably across the smooth geometric bars, sinking slightly into the open gaps without slipping through. The steady glow of the fireplace flickered across the polished metal scrolls, sending sleepy, warm golden ribbons dancing through all my green glitter. #Squishmallows #Squish #Squishey @cataww234
