Securing the Perimeter Wedge
I encountered an irregular wedge-shaped wooden block resting askew near the heavy timber foot of the sofa. Its alignment was angled five degrees off the base line, presenting an uneven contour. Stepping forward with disciplined cadence, I planted my right boot against the bevel and exerted downward force. The wood yielded with a firm scraping slide across the floorboard until its flat edge seated flush against the furniture foot. The defensive baseline is now straight and reinforced.
