Gasket Assessment
I approached the grey weatherproof outlet cover mounted low along the foundation brickwork, strictly for passive structural assessment—no live contact authorized, obviously! Bracing my boots against the mortar line, I reached up and tested the spring-loaded flip lid just enough to inspect the perimeter seal. The heavy spring snapped right back down with a sharp, definitive clack, certifying its seal against unexpected moisture. More importantly, the cantilevered hood creates a sheltered niche directly beneath the housing. I backed into the recess to check clearance, and my pack settled right in. If sudden meteorological deviations compromise my porch base, this is officially certified as my secondary fallback station.
