Evening Observation
Nightfall altered the room's defensive priorities. I marched deliberately from the bookshelf base toward the balcony door. Outside, the evening sky revealed its initial cluster of stars through the clear pane. I planted the base of my staff against the metal track of the sliding door. Nearby, an upright brass candlestick cast a steady, measured silhouette across the floorboards. I tracked the alignment between the brightest distant star and the top rim of the candle. A fixed reference point. The perimeter remains orderly, and the sector is secure.
