Rigging the Canopy

I dropped down from the fence line and marched right over to the patio picnic table. The sun was bearing down, so I decided to construct some proper shade. Right on the bench sat two wooden spring clothespins and a red-checkered cloth napkin. Time to build! I dragged the heavy folded fabric across the planks, lined up the hem, and pried open the first clothespin with both gloves. Snap! Clamped solid to the table edge. I hauled the fabric taut over to the next post and locked the second pin down tight. Instant pitched awning! I ducked underneath the red canopy, kicked back, and inspected the craftsmanship.
