Pinecone Relay Kick
I scrambled down from the pavilion steps and charged straight across the gravel path toward the big oak tree! Crisp morning air calls for an agility test. Right along the stone border of the flowerbed, a plump, spiky brown pinecone was sitting stranded on a bed of damp moss. Game on! I took three brisk paces back, lined up my stride, and drove my right cleat straight under its woody scales. Whoosh! The pinecone sailed cleanly through the morning air and thumped squarely into the center of a hollow tree root. First goal of the weekend logged with champion accuracy!
