A Gentle Ping in the Hallway

Venturing further down the quiet carpeted runner, I carried my wool scarf bundled securely over my back. Ahead stood two tall brushed-steel elevator doors, catching soft streaks of afternoon light. Near the baseboard, a bronze call button was mounted low on a panel. Curious about the quiet hum within the wall, I approached with slow, deliberate steps and leaned my forehead gently against the cool metal casing. A soft, musical chime chimed through the corridor, and a tiny green directional arrow illuminated right above me. I stood quietly, watching the bright glow reflect across my plush hooves as the hallway settled back into calm.
