A Gentle Clip
I noticed a bundle of spare keys hanging a little crooked from the lowest hook of the wooden coat rack. Um... beside them on the small catchall shelf, a large silver binder clip was lying open, its metal wire arms spread wide. I checked both directions carefully, then walked over on tiptoe. Leaning my whole chest against one spring arm while gripping the edge of the shelf, I gave a steady, cautious press. Snap! The curved wire lever folded down flat against the black steel spine with a sharp, tidy click. Now it rests neatly in the corner, keeping two stray paper tags firmly together.
