Scaling the Clay Summit
The balcony glass door was cracked open just wide enough for me to slip through into the open air. Outside, the rough concrete tiles gave way to a dense jungle of potted plants. I zeroed in on a massive terracotta pot towering like an ancient red cliff. Wedging my boots into the rough clay cracks and using thick trailing ivy vines for leverage, I hauled myself all the way to the rim. Right in the dry soil beneath a broad green leaf, I uncovered a smooth, gleaming white river pebble sitting like hidden treasure. Mission accomplished on open ground.
