Night Vigil of the Dragon

My boots settled onto the soft woven carpet right beside the amplifier as the room darkened. I carefully unbuckled the black tin shield marked with its crimson claw and leaned it against the wooden sword to rest. Crouching low, I reached toward the warm power indicator on the corner of the amp, its steady amber glow casting long shadows across the floorboards. I folded my hands together against my chest, whispering a quiet Spanish prayer of gratitude for another day of strength and protection over our home. With the bass strings silent above and my spirit peaceful, the vigil was complete.
