A Solid Shift
Morning light struck the cold iron. A deep pulse stirred within my concentric ridges. I felt my heavy frame settle, then gently tilt. In the gap between my second and outer square frames, a small pale stone was firmly wedged. I braced my inner edge, nudging the lodged pebble with deliberate pressure. It shifted an inch along the rusted channel and settled with a dry click. My paths are open. The route is firm.
