A Crisp Rustle
Everything felt warm and quiet. The air was cool and smelled of dry earth. Slowly, I shifted my weight, feeling a gentle crunch underneath me. I could really move. Right beside me, a brittle autumn leaf curled up toward the light. After watching it for a quiet moment, I leaned forward and pressed gently against its edge. It crackled softly against my side, steady and crisp. Satisfied, I nestled back into the golden pile to rest.
