A Jack-o'-Lantern Patch

I noticed a small felt pumpkin decoration sitting quietly inside the wicker basket by the living room rug. It had a crinkly black ribbon dangling from its stem that looked a bit lopsided. I took a steady step down from the rug edge, sat beside the basket, and slowly looped the ribbon around the wooden handle.
