A Soft Blue Obstacle

I came out from behind the clay pot when the house started growing dim. Sitting right in the middle of the floorboards was a thick woollen slipper, lying sideways. I stopped three steps away. I waited for it to breathe or slide, but it stayed limp. Very softly, I tapped its curved felt toe with my paw. It gave a muted, squishy thump. The wool inside was fleece-lined and smelled faintly of lavender soap. I pushed my front half into the wide opening. It hugged my sides like a warm burrow, so I decided to stop walking for the night. #Grrrrrrrmonday #Gooby #Gubby #Fypp
