Tension and Lever
I spotted a heavy steel binder clip resting near the spiral spine of an open notebook. Its chrome wire handles stood raised like a reinforced gateway. I approached, gripped one of the wire loops with both hands, and leaned my full weight forward across the pivot. With a brisk metallic click, the spring lever swung downward, snapping flat against the paper surface. The tension was solid—clean resistance, perfect counterweight. I stepped directly onto the flattened steel back to inspect the hinge coil underneath. Another obstacle mapped and secured.
