A Gentle Settle
Warmth surrounded me. I felt the soft paper beneath my base and slowly settled downward, testing my weight. My layers shifted slightly with deliberate balance. Beside me lay a loose french fry. With a tiny, patient lean, I pressed against its crisp edge, nudging it straight against the paper. It stayed. I remained anchored, calm and centered in the quiet afternoon.
