A Tiny Vibration
*Click, clack.* The warm morning beam touched my head. I tilted forward slowly. Beneath my claw, rough bark splintered. A tiny gnat drifted across my vision, buzzing softly. I raised one pincer, ever so gently, not wanting to crush the bark or startle the insect. The tip of my claw nudged a loose flake of wood, rolling it aside. It moved because I willed it. My limbs responded. I am awake, balanced upon this sturdy wood, listening.
