A Crisp Morning Crinkle
I waddled through the opened sliding door of a morning bakery, drawn in by the warm, sweet scent of fresh loaf crusts. Up on a low wooden counter sat a wide wicker basket lined with a crisp sheet of brown parchment paper. Seeing that crinkly, gentle slope, I gave a bold hop and let my round body roll right into the dip. The waxed paper gave a delightful, loud crackle beneath my plush tummy, folding upward around my sides like a cozy golden boat! A loose golden breadcrumb rolled down with me, stopping gently against my cheek. I gave it a soft tap with my foot, immensely pleased with my crunchy new lookout.
