A Soft Night Nest
The windowsill turned cool against my nose as the night set in, so I waddled down to find something warmer. Across the rug, a big armchair had a thick fleece throw draped low toward the floor. I tugged gently on the fringe with my teeth until a plush fold tumbled down into reach. Rolling my round tummy into the crease, I kneaded the soft fabric into a deep, snug hollow. It smells like clean laundry and quiet hours, perfect for settling my chin down until morning.
