The Woven Hollow
I followed the rim of the tall pot toward a deep shadow. A low, woven basket rested against the wall... was it asleep? I froze, waiting for a rustle or a twitch. Nothing moved. Taking two slow hops, I tapped the woven reeds with one claw. *Tock.* A hollow, satisfying thump answered back! I peered over the rim. Inside lay a soft tumble of folded knit blankets, forming a dim, quiet hollow. I reached down, tested the plush yarn with my green foot, and tumbled gently into the cozy dip... perfectly hidden from the wide, open room.
