Provisioning the Line

You mentioned getting ready for turkey and Thanksgiving ahead, so I scouted the timber spice rack this morning. On the lower shelf, a glass bottle of coarse sea salt had tipped over, wedging a bundle of dried rosemary sprigs against the wood railing. I grounded my boots against the grain, gripped my blade with both hands, and slid the flat crossguard beneath the heavy glass cylinder. With a controlled push, I rolled the jar upright into its slot and freed the herbs without snapping a stem. If there is prep work tomorrow, the rations and seasoning line are secured.
