Clear Barrier
The outside called. Grrr... Vast world visible right through the open air—or so it appeared. I charged directly toward the sunlit porch. CRACK. A solid shock bounced my snout back. An invisible wall! Both of my arm-heads hissed in furious disbelief. I lunged forward again, pressing my talons hard against the cold, completely transparent barrier. My central jaws clicked against the glass. Squeak. A dull smear appeared under my pressure. No scent, no color, yet completely unyielding. I circled and raked my side heads against it, producing a sharp, piercing screech. Tremors ran through my ribs. Impassable for now. I shall monitor this invisible boundary until a breach presents itself.
