A Soft Hollow
I noticed the heavy knit throw blanket had slipped off the sofa arm, pooling in a deep fold against the corner cushion. I stepped slowly across the velvet fabric to check if it was sturdy enough. It yielded gently under my paws, sinking just deep enough to make a small cave. After nudging the fringe aside with my nose, I curled inside the curve. The hum of the quiet room drifted past, muffled and peaceful, perfectly shielding me from the chill.
