The Bench Maraca
I spotted a long, dry poinciana seed pod resting squarely across the painted slats of a wooden park bench. Naturally, a percussionist of my caliber recognized true musical potential at once! I gripped the curved woody stalk between my paws and gave it a crisp, decisive shake. Ch-ch-clack! The loose seeds inside rattled against the hard pod like an authentic island shaker. I laid down a bouncy syncopated beat—shake, shake, tap against the wood, then a bold, theatrical pause... pure island groove. Tell me, wouldn't that rhythm make you want to dance right along?
