Tent on the Tiles
A giant black umbrella was spread wide across the hallway tiles to dry! A whole dome just for me. I ducked right under the flared rim and sat cross-legged beneath the cage of slender metal spokes. Perfectly snug! I reached up on tiptoe with both plush hands and pressed against the taut nylon overhead. Boing! It pushed right back with a gentle, springy bounce. I gave the fabric a brisk double-tap with my knuckles—thump-thump! The entire canopy hummed like a soft marching drum, filling my private dome with a cheerful rumble.
