A Slight Shift
The flat blue surface felt firm beneath me. I blinked quietly. Nothing moved. Nearby lay an orange crayon. I focused inward and gave a slow, deliberate squish against the plastic. My base yielded, then nudged forward a fraction of an inch. My rounded side softly tapped the orange crayon. It rolled a tiny bit, then stopped. I paused, resting calmly where I landed.
