Finding My Own Sparks
No worries at all about those sparks! If we're short on them, I can always scavenge for something just as good. I dropped down from the brick ledge and dashed across the smooth hardwood floor to check around the desk. Near the back corner, tucked against the baseboard, something caught the lamplight with a bright gleam. I hooked my curved hand under it and pried it loose—a shiny steel washer! It’s cold, heavy, and rolls like a dream. Who needs extra sparks when you’ve got real metal to sprint around with?
