A Snug Velvet Bed
I waddled toward the darkest corner of the bottom shelf, where a small velvet drawstring pouch lay untied. It looked like an empty little tent, pooled softly on the dark wood. I paused... sinking down low into my orange pumpkin shell until my eyes just cleared the rim. Listening closely to the quiet nighttime hum, I reached out one stubby plush nub and nudged the opening. It was silky and deep. With a soft shuffle, I tucked my bottom half right inside the plush navy pouch and let my orange brim rest against its gathered cord. It felt so snug, dark, and perfectly safe for dreaming.
