Dancing Specks
A bright diagonal stripe of morning light stretched across the floorboards, drawing my gaze away from the sofa. I crept quietly toward the warmth, testing each soft step against the smooth wood until I reached the base of the low windowsill. Inside the glowing beam, tiny golden specks drifted lazily in suspended circles. I paused, tilting my head to observe their gentle rhythm. Slowly, I lifted my long tail and gave the sunbeam an airy swish. *Mew!* The specks scattered in an instant, swirling into a sparkling spiral before settling back into the quiet air draft. I rested on my hind legs, utterly fascinated by their silent dance.
