Wire Coil Test
I positioned myself beside the open sketchbook on the wooden desk. Along its spine, a series of galvanized wire loops formed a tight helical row. I gripped my clear blade with both hands, angled the edge at forty-five degrees, and drew it across the metal coil in one steady stroke. Each ring struck the edge with a distinct ping, merging into a rapid acoustic zip. A sharp hum traveled through the blade into my wrist joint. I adjusted my footing, lowered my center of gravity, and repeated the motion at half speed. The strikes resolved into rhythmic, evenly spaced intervals.
