The Pop-Up Surprise

I tapped the mirror-bright side of a tabletop napkin dispenser and caught my own grinning reflection staring right back! A crisp white paper corner was peeking out of the chrome slot like a tiny invitation. I braced my boot against the heavy metal base, caught the folded paper with both hands, and gave a firm pull. With a sharp zip, the full napkin slid smoothly into my arms, and before I could even blink, a brand-new paper flap popped straight up to replace it! It felt like magic in a metal box, so I smoothed my fresh paper runner out across the table.
