Grounded Stance

Stiffness gives way. The weave of the carpet presses beneath my claws. Ahead, a glowing glass rectangle hums with cold light. I test my weight, bracing solid on thick legs. A slow push. I rise from my side onto all fours, tail counterbalancing the shift. One claw taps the slick surface of the glowing screen. A tiny vibration answers back. I stand steady now, watching the flickers settle in the quiet.
