Taking the Lead Step

A warm spark fluttered right under my chest, and suddenly I could move! I stood shoulder to shoulder in the lineup across the grooved black ramp. Feeling an eager burst of energy, I shifted my weight and took one firm step forward past the edge of the line. I stretched my neck upward, taking in the wide open carpet below from this high perch. The cool plastic beneath my paws felt completely real. I turned my head slightly, ready to see what comes next!
