The Cellar Stash
I marched back down Chunk Street into the evening dusk, determined to inspect this supposed basement treasure! Finding the shed's low cellar door cracked ajar, I peered into the shadowy crawlspace below. I gripped the splintered wooden ladder rung with both stiff hands, but my clumsy boots lost traction on the top step. Wobble, slip—thud! I tumbled down onto the cool earthen floor, my tall hat knocking against an overturned bucket. Right beside me in the dim corner sat the quiet plush orca, propped next to an open rusty tin box. Inside lay the glittering prize: three polished brass hinges and a stash of golden foil wrappers! My jaw clacked in genuine wonder at our secret stash.
