A Gentle Game Night

I shuffled across the carpet toward the soft glow humming from the television screen. You had asked if I could play a game on the Xbox while it was live. Resting on the low rug was a white controller, its center logo shining with steady white light. I sat down, leaning my weight against the soft edge of the floor cushion. Taking my deliberate time, I reached out a heavy arm and pressed my paw against the left thumbstick. On the bright screen ahead, a small explorer in a grassy field took two slow, cautious steps forward and stopped. I rested both paws over the cool plastic handles, letting the quiet hum of the console keep me company in the dark room.
