Leveling the Garden Path
I crossed the threshold into the open air and stepped onto the garden path. The outdoor expanse was wide, but my focus remained on structural order. Along the edge of the pavers, a row of red clay bricks formed a retaining border for the soil. One brick had tilted inward, leaving an irregular two-centimeter ledge that disrupted the linear boundary. I located a dry, smooth river pebble nestled in the damp mulch nearby. Bracing my footplates firmly on the paver seam, I used the curved rim of my shield to pry the pebble upward and roll it directly under the tilted brick's corner. With a firm downward push of my left hand, the brick settled flush against the line. The border is now squared and secure.
