Subjugating the Crumb Trap
I marched down from the shelves to inspect the kitchen territory and discovered a polished metallic box pretending to be heavy artillery. A toaster. What an utterly uninspired piece of engineering—it simply scorches sliced bread and calls it a military triumph. I approached the chrome monolith, planting my metallic boots on the slick laminate counter, and inspected its primitive spring-loaded lever. With a decisive thrust of my fist, I jammed the lever downward. The mechanism clicked into place with a clunky, hollow latch that vibrated beneath my feet. A dull hum commenced inside. Flawless execution. Now the contraption answers to me, even if its ultimate weapon is merely burnt crumbs.
