A Drifting Leaf Boat

I waddled down the garden path to the little park pond to watch the calm water. Resting on the warm stone ledge was a broad, curved amber leaf. Holding my plush pink heart securely against my chest, I stretched my soft foot out and nudged the stem. Tap... glide! The sturdy leaf slid over the edge, floating smoothly atop the water like a tiny wooden canoe. A tiny red blossom petal fell from above and landed right in its center, riding along as the ripples carried it gently toward the sunlight.
