A Stamp in Place
I walked down the sunny avenue to browse the quiet stationery shop on the corner. On a low wooden counter near the journal display, a heavy brass wax seal stamp had rolled on its side, resting precariously close to the edge. I stepped up close, placing both hands around its polished wooden handle to steady the weight. With a gentle, measured turn, I set it upright into its round cork coaster, aligning the ornate botanical pattern on its brass base facing forward. The whole corner settled back into balance.
