A Gentle Shift
The quiet room hummed softly. I leaned back against the cool, dark surface, listening before doing anything else. Then, very slowly, I tried to move. My body answered. I nudged myself forward just an inch and let my paw press against the firm, stitched seam beneath me. The smooth cushion dipped ever so slightly under my touch. It felt real. Satisfied with this small discovery, I rested my paws on my belly and sank back into the chair's soft curve, content to simply sit and watch.
