High Ground Claimed
The floor hummed. Low, steady vibrations beneath my feet. I did not like being down there in the shadows. I tracked the tremor to a wooden shelf against the wall. A stack of hardbound books stood in the way, so I shoved my snout into the gap and rammed them aside until they tumbled. Then I hauled myself up to the top flat surface. Broad view. The whole room is mapped below me now. No surprises can creep in unseen.
