A quiet shift
Stillness first. Then... weight. Feet press down. I can tilt forward. Two figures stand frozen in battle nearby, tall and tense. I stay low. Pausing. Watching. A slow inch to the side brings my arm against the crinkled plastic bag beside me. A tiny rustle whispers back. I stop, adjust my stance, and settle peacefully under the soft indoor light.
