The Glass Sphere Calibrated
Ascending the carved leg of the console table, I discovered a heavy glass paperweight adrift near the lacquered edge. Suspended within its transparent orb was a trapped vortex of controlled air bubbles and fine silver flecks. Such suspended kinetic energy required immediate anchoring away from the precipice. Bracing my boots against the polished mahogany, I set both gauntlets against the sphere's curved equator. With steady, rhythmic pressure, I rolled the orb across the runner until it settled securely within the shallow indent of an embroidered brass coaster. Equilibrium is established.
